Final Fantasy XIV players can now pre-order Evercold, the next expansion, ahead of its scheduled February 23, 2027 release. Square Enix opened pre-orders on November 4, 2026, and confirmed early access beginning around February 19. That leaves several months for players to decide which edition fits their platform and whether the pre-order bonuses are worth securing.

Square Enix published the exact dates and contents in the official Lodestone pre-order announcement. The important distinction is between the game, its digital extras, and the separate physical collector items.

Evercold release date and early access

The full expansion is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2027. Pre-order early access is planned for Friday, February 19, at approximately 1 a.m. Pacific Time. Early access is a benefit of eligible pre-orders and not a change to the general release date. Square Enix can publish operational details closer to launch, so check the Lodestone again before planning time off.

Which stores are offering pre-orders?

The Mog Station pre-order option is available, and Square Enix lists PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, Steam and the Square Enix Store among the North American sales channels. The company says those store pre-orders are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Pacific on November 4. Availability and exact bundles can vary by storefront and platform.

Before purchasing, match the expansion to the platform and account you actually use. In a game with different storefront entitlements, it is particularly important to confirm you are buying the correct version rather than relying on an attractive collector image.

What is included in the standard and digital collector editions?

The Standard Edition grants access to Evercold and includes the earlier Endwalker and Dawntrail expansions as described by Square Enix. The Digital Collector’s Edition adds in-game extras, including the Valhallar Odin Mount, Entreat Crystal Emote and Crystal Skyltborg.

Square Enix also sells a Collector’s Bundle with a physical Collector’s Box and a digital game entitlement through the appropriate store. The company is explicit that the standalone Collector’s Box contains physical items only: it does not include the game, the digital collector bonuses, or pre-order benefits. That distinction matters if you see a boxed listing and assume it provides access to the expansion.

Pre-order bonuses players receive

Eligible pre-orders include the Wind-up Köttr Minion and Halone’s Earring. Square Enix describes the earring as an accessory that boosts earned experience, which makes it relevant for characters catching up before the expansion. The publisher also lists early access as part of the pre-order benefits.

Should you pre-order now?

There is no need to rush simply because orders have opened. Players focused on story content can compare Standard Edition availability, while collectors should check which bundle contains physical items and which includes only digital extras. Review the release-date announcement and your platform store before buying.

For now, the dates are confirmed: November 4 for pre-orders, February 19 for early access, and February 23 for release. The game itself has more details to reveal before players enter Evercold.
