Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 begins November 6, 2026, adding three multiplayer maps, returning modes, new guns, and expanded DMZ and Warzone content. Activision detailed the update in its official Season 1 announcement published October 28.

New multiplayer maps and returning modes

Three maps arrive with the launch: Backstab, a war-torn combat zone; Canyon, featuring rocky terrain and multiple routes; and a snowy reimagining of Shoot House. Players can also jump back into Grind, which asks teams to bank collected dog tags, and Drop Zone, where squads contest a rotating location for rewards.

Later in the season, the Ministry and Overflow maps are scheduled to join the rotation, along with Counter Attack, a mode focused on attacking enemy communication stations while defending your own.

DMZ opens the X01 facility

DMZ’s new X01 weapons facility features dangerous tunnels and extraction challenges. Activision says players can expect new orders, boss-related objectives, and Resupply Runs. Squads will need to collect resources and plan escapes as the facility becomes harder to leave.

Weapons, Battle Pass and Warzone

The Cronen Osprey assault rifle and CSG-35 SMG are among the new weapons in the Season 1 Battle Pass. Activision is also introducing a catch-up system for premium rewards to help players who join partway through the season.

Warzone is gaining two maps, Hajin and Zodiac, as Modern Warfare 4 content integrates with the free-to-play game. More detailed Warzone information is scheduled for November 2.

When does Season 1 start?

Activision lists midnight Eastern on November 6 as the start of Season 1, which is 9 p.m. Pacific on November 5. More additions are planned for the mid-season update.
