PlayStation 5 players will have two more survival games to look forward to next year. Publisher Funcom has announced that Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced are both coming to PS5 in early 2027.
The two games have very different ideas about survival. One lets you build a home in the clouds and explore colorful floating islands. The other throws you into a dangerous world filled with enemies, harsh environments, and ancient mysteries.
Funcom shared the news in an official PlayStation Blog announcement.
Aloft Brings Its Floating Islands to PS5
If you prefer your survival games with a little more sunshine, Aloft might be the one to watch. Developed by Astrolabe Interactive, Aloft is a cooperative survival game set in a world filled with floating islands.
Players can explore the skies, gather materials, build homes, and turn entire islands into flying ships. Instead of being stuck with a traditional base on the ground, you can add sails and equipment to your island and take your home along for the journey.
It’s an unusual idea, and it gives the game a different feel from many survival adventures. The world isn’t completely peaceful, though.
Players must deal with dangerous weather, explore forgotten places, and fight a strange fungal corruption that threatens the environment. You can also care for animals, discover new wildlife, customize your glider, and uncover the history of the world around you.
The PS5 Version Includes the Complete Experience
Aloft has been available in Early Access on PC since January 2025. During that time, the developers have introduced several major updates, expanding the world and improving its systems.
According to Funcom, the PS5 release will include the updates introduced during Early Access along with the full version 1.0 experience. That means console players won’t have to start with the earlier, less complete version of the game.
Aloft can also be enjoyed alone or with friends, making it an option for players who like building and exploring together. An exact PS5 release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Conan Exiles Gets a New Version for PS5
For players who prefer a tougher survival experience, Conan Exiles Enhanced is also on the way. The new edition brings visual and performance improvements to the existing open-world survival game.
Funcom says players can expect improved environments, characters, lighting, and effects, along with a redesigned interface. There are also changes aimed at making the experience smoother and easier to navigate.
Exploring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion should feel more seamless, although Isle of Siptah will still be sold separately. The update also introduces the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc for console players.
This new adventure focuses on the ancient Giant-Kings and their forgotten history, offering additional challenges, discoveries, and rewards.
Existing PlayStation Owners Get a Free Upgrade
One of the best parts of the announcement is how Funcom is handling the new version. Players who already own Conan Exiles on PlayStation will receive Conan Exiles Enhanced for PS5 at no additional cost.
Funcom also says both the PS4 and PS5 versions will remain available to purchase, with ownership covering both versions. Previously purchased Bazaar items and DLC will carry over to the Enhanced edition.
That’s welcome news for longtime players who have already spent time and money building their characters and settlements. It’s also a good reason to revisit the game when the improved version arrives.
When Are Both Games Coming Out?
Both Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced are planned for early 2027 on PlayStation 5. Funcom hasn’t announced exact release dates yet, but both games are available to wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
For survival-game fans, the announcement offers two different ways to spend their time. Aloft is all about exploring the skies, building a home, and restoring a colorful world.
Conan Exiles Enhanced focuses on a harsher adventure, with improved visuals and more story content for returning players. Whichever style you prefer, PS5 players have more survival adventures coming their way next year.
