Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is finally getting New Game+ on November 5, 2026. The free update will let players restart Eivor’s adventure while keeping much of their progress, and it brings additional progression options, gear improvements, and rewards.

The announcement arrived in Ubisoft’s October 29 franchise update, which also shared news about Black Flag Resynced, the multiplayer project Codename Invictus, and the darker Codename Hexe.

New Game+ arrives November 5

For players who have already spent dozens of hours exploring England and Norway, the headline feature is straightforward: New Game+ lets you start the story again without starting completely from scratch.

Ubisoft says much of Eivor’s progression will carry over, with dedicated New Game+ scaling. That gives returning players a reason to experiment with different equipment and approaches throughout the campaign rather than waiting until late in another playthrough to use their favorite upgrades.

The update follows Ubisoft’s announcement that Valhalla has passed 40 million players. The publisher describes New Game+ as one of the community’s most requested additions.

What else is included in the update?

New Game+ is only part of the November 5 update. Ubisoft has also outlined several changes to gear and character development:

  • An optional progression mode in which Gear, Runes, and Masteries contribute to Eivor’s overall Power.
  • New runes, achievements, a stash system, and additional rewards.
  • A Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s appearance in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
  • Mithril, a new resource used to improve Divine Gear and strengthen runes.
  • Divine Gear quality becoming available for all items.

Not every detail has been explained yet. Ubisoft says the full patch notes are still coming, along with information about current-generation console updates. We’ll have a clearer picture of the exact changes once those notes are released.

Black Flag Resynced gets its final major update

Ubisoft also used the same announcement to confirm that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has received its final planned major content update. It adds its own New Game+ option, Nightmare Mode, new finishers, additional customization, and rewards including outfits inspired by Blackbeard and Edward.

The studio says smaller quality-of-life updates will continue over the coming months, even though it has no more major content releases planned for the game.

What about the next Assassin’s Creed games?

The franchise update also offered a brief look at projects still in development. Ubisoft says the competitive multiplayer project Codename Invictus is evolving after feedback from early private testing. Players liked its parkour and team-based possibilities but wanted more of the series’ familiar identity.

Meanwhile, Codename Hexe remains in development. Ubisoft is saving its next major update on that darker entry for 2027, so there is no newly announced release date.

The company also stated that no other Assassin’s Creed remake is actively in development at this time. That doesn’t rule out remakes in the future, but it does put a limit on what fans should expect from current rumors.

When can you play Valhalla’s New Game+?

November 5, 2026 is the date to mark. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to revisit Eivor’s story with your established gear and upgrades, this update is designed for exactly that kind of return trip.
