Quick answer: Pre-order Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold for the platform and service account you actually use. On PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, Square Enix says no separate pre-order bonus code is needed. On Steam, retrieve the code under Library → FINAL FANTASY XIV Online → Manage → CD keys and register it through the Mog Station. Windows/Mac pre-orders made directly through Mog Station register bonuses automatically; eligible third-party retailer purchases use a supplied bonus code.

Evercold’s official release is scheduled for February 23, 2027. Pre-order early access is scheduled to begin February 19, 2027, around 1 a.m. Pacific. This guide covers the pre-order process as published when orders opened November 4, 2026.

Check these requirements before paying

  1. Confirm you are purchasing Evercold for the platform and FINAL FANTASY XIV service account you intend to use.
  2. Ensure you own the full game, not only the free trial. Square Enix says Evercold cannot be played on its own and an active subscription is still required.
  3. For access to Evercold story content during early access, you must have Dawntrail registered and complete certain prior quests. Buying Evercold alone does not bypass the Main Scenario prerequisites.
  4. Choose the game edition, not the physical-only Collector’s Box if you need the expansion itself. Square Enix specifically says the Collector’s Box includes no game software or pre-order bonuses.

PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2

  1. Purchase the appropriate Evercold edition from PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, or Nintendo eShop while the pre-order offer is active.
  2. Start FINAL FANTASY XIV with the account connected to that storefront and complete the relevant pre-order registration prompts, if shown.
  3. Collect eligible bonus items from the Moogle Delivery Service in game. Square Enix says delivery begins sequentially after the registration process, not necessarily instantly at checkout.

The platform storefront versions do not require a separate pre-order bonus code. PlayStation Store pre-orders also include platform avatars when early access begins. Some Xbox gamerpics are offered as downloadable promotional extras and are not the same as in-game rewards.

Steam pre-orders

  1. Purchase Evercold on Steam using the Steam account associated with your FFXIV service account.
  2. Open Steam → Library, right-click FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, choose Manage → CD keys, and copy the listed pre-order bonus code.
  3. Open Mog Station, sign in to your correct service account and follow the official Evercold pre-order code registration instructions.
  4. After registration, launch the game and check Moogle Delivery Service for the bonus items.

Square Enix says one pre-order bonus code can be registered to only one service account. Check account selection carefully before redeeming. Do not confuse the pre-order bonus code with any separate expansion license code you may receive when Evercold launches.

Windows or Mac purchases

Purchased directly on Mog Station: No manual pre-order code entry is required; Square Enix says the bonus registration is automatic. Purchased from another participating retailer: Wait for that retailer to deliver the pre-order bonus code, then register it to the correct account using the official Mog Station procedure. Retailers can send codes at different times and by different methods.

What do you actually receive?

Square Enix lists the Wind-up Köttr minion, Halone’s Earring and early access as pre-order benefits on eligible game editions. The earring grants a 30% EXP bonus from defeating enemies when equipped at levels 1 through 100 by Disciples of War or Magic. This is not a universal 30% bonus on every source of experience. The Digital Collector’s Edition also contains its own additional in-game extras, which are distinct from the standard pre-order items.

Troubleshooting missing codes or bonuses

  1. No code on console: That is expected for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 store purchases. Check registration and Moogle Delivery Service instead.
  2. Steam code missing: Check the game’s Manage → CD keys entry rather than looking only at Steam’s purchase receipt.
  3. Retailer code not received: Check the participating seller’s delivery instructions and order email; timings differ by retailer.
  4. Wrong account or code already used: Confirm which service account and platform were selected. Codes are single-service-account registrations.
  5. Items not showing immediately: Square Enix says Moogle mail is distributed sequentially, so allow for delivery after the correct registration is complete.
  6. Cannot enter the expansion on February 19: Check that Dawntrail is registered and the prerequisite quests are complete, in addition to confirming early-access entitlement.

Official redemption guide

Follow Square Enix’s Evercold product and redemption page for live edition differences and platform-specific steps, and its pre-order bonus code instructions when manual registration is required.

The important distinction is simple: console storefronts and Mog Station purchases usually handle bonus registration for you; Steam and some outside retailers require you to retrieve and redeem a code. Make sure the entitlement belongs to the right service account before launch day.
