Pokémon GO is bringing Mega Chandelure into the game for the first time on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The Halloween-themed Super Mega Raid Day runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time, giving Trainers a three-hour window to challenge the Ghost- and Fire-type Pokémon with friends.

According to the official Pokémon GO event announcement, Mega Chandelure will appear in Super Mega Raids, and lucky Trainers may encounter a Shiny Chandelure. The event also introduces the chance to raise Mega Chandelure to the new Super Max Mega Level.

What makes these raids different?

Super Mega Raids are built around teamwork. The boss can become enraged and gain shields, which players need to break with their own Mega-Evolved Pokémon. The game’s event map can help identify possible raid locations, while local community meetups may make it easier to assemble a group.

Mega Chandelure also gains access to Ominous Wind+ while Mega-Evolved. Its listed base power is 50 in Trainer Battles, with a chance to raise Attack and Defense, and 145 in Gyms and Raids. Trainers must first reach the regular Max Mega Level before advancing to Super Max, and Mega Energy will be needed for that next step.

Free passes, ticket bonuses and a global challenge

All Trainers can collect up to six free Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs during the event. The Remote Raid limit increases to 20 from October 30 at 5 p.m. PDT through October 31 at 8 p.m. PDT. Chandelure caught in Super Mega Raids will have Mega Level 1 unlocked, and the Shiny encounter chance is increased.

An optional $4.99 event ticket raises the number of passes available from Gym Photo Discs to up to 14 and adds bonuses including a higher chance of Rare Candy XL, plus 5,000 additional XP and Stardust per Super Mega Raid. Timed Research offers a Premium Battle Pass and a Tyranitar encounter, but players need to complete and claim those rewards before the research expires.

There is a longer-term reason to take part, too. A global raid challenge runs from October 30 at 5 p.m. PDT to October 31 at 8 p.m. PDT. Depending on the tiers the community unlocks, Mega Chandelure could receive temporary Ominous Wind+ and Super Max CP boosts from November 2 to November 15. The attack boost does not apply in the GO Battle League.

What to do before Saturday

Check nearby raid locations, organize a group with other Trainers and make sure you have suitable Mega-Evolved Pokémon prepared. The three-hour local window is the key deadline; the global challenge and its possible rewards follow a separate schedule.
